Euflexxa (3x2ml)

$80.00

Category:

EUFLEXXA (1% sodium hyaluronate) is used to relieve knee pain due to osteoarthritis. It is used in people who do not get enough relief from simple pain medications such as acetaminophen or from exercise and physical therapy.

How does Euflexxa work?

The main active ingredient, hyaluronic acid (HA) is a natural substance found inside the human body. It’s key properties are to keep the knee lubricated. HA naturally breaks down in the body during metabolism and is then replaced. However as we get older and our metabolism slows down, replacement of HA is less often which results in less lubrication around the joints that we use most frequently.

Euflexxa imitates the natural HA found in the human body. Available by prescription it is less invasive method compared to the traditional surgical methods. It is quick to administer and can be carried out at your local GP Surgery. Euflexxa is a safe alternative to non prescriptive medicine relievers that are not achieving the desired pain relief in patients.

Ingredients:

1 ml of EUFLEXXA® contains Sodium hyaluronate 10 mg, Sodium chloride 8.5 mg, Disodium hydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate 0.56 mg and Sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate 0.05 mg

What cautions should be noted with Euflexxa?

Anyone with hypersensitivity to Hyaluronic acid should not use this product. Similarly anyone with a skin infection at the proposed site of infection should refrain from using Euflexxa.

Strenuous activities including heavy lifting and sports, must be avoided following injection. Standing for long periods of time should also be avoided, especially over one hour.

Euflexxa should not be given to children under the age of 18.

What are the associated side effects with Euflexxa?

Common side effects include swelling, pain, skin irritation and tenderness at the site of injection. These are normal and will disappear after 2 days.

DUROLANE by Galderma, is a clear, thick and flexible gel made from a form of a naturally occurring substance called hyaluronic acid, which is the body’s own joint lubricant. It has been designed specifically for injection into joints affected by osteoarthritis (knee and hip), to provide lubrication and cushioning. DUROLANE is different from other products containing hyaluronic acid that are used to treat osteoarthritis, as it is contains Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid (NASHA). This is a substance with greatly improved features compared with older hyaluronic acid products. These features mean that DUROLANE is able to stay within joints for a long time (at least 3 months) whilst still being treated by your body as a natural product. DUROLANE is injected directly into your joint by a qualified doctor and, due to its unique properties, treatment of either hip or knee osteoarthritis involves only one injection. How is Durolane administered? Durolane can be administered in the GP's consulting room and only takes 10 minutes to complete. The advantage of this treatment is that it only requires a single injection into the knee or hip joint area, in comparison to other treatments that require several injections. Therefore the patient is left feeling at ease during the whole process knowing that it takes a short amount of time. The treatment can be carried out again in subsequent visits as and when necessary. What does Durolane actually do once it's injected? The Hyaluronic acid inside Durolane is a natural substance found inside the human body. It's key properties are to act as a shock absorber. HA naturally breaks down in the body during metabolism and is then replaced. However as we get older and our metabolism slows down, replacement of HA is less often which results in less viscoelasticity, resulting in breakdown of the bone and pain as it grinds against the skin. Therefore the replenishment of HA ensures there is continued lubrication between the joints with the added viscoelasticity of HA to control the pain. How long will Durolane last? Compared to other drug treatments, Durolane lasts much longer thanks to hyaluronic acid.Ostenil Mini (1x10mg/1ml) can treat joint paint to increase mobility in the individual by injecting the viscoelastic solution into the muscle joint area. Ingredients: Sodium hyaluronate from fermentation and sodium chloride, sodium monohydrogenphosphate, sodium dihydrogenphosphate, mannitol and water for injection. What can Ostenil Mini be used for? Reduce pain and increase mobility in:
  • Facet joints of the lumbar spine
  • Saddle joint of the thumb, by improving pinch and grip strength.
  • Interphalangeal joints of the fingers and toes
  • The proximal joint of the big toe and the temporomandibular joint, by improving bite and jaw opening.
  • Decreasing pain in chronic lower back
How does OSTENIL work? Ostenil Mini is a clear medicine which contains hyaluronate, a pure animal free substance that is completely biocompatible and imitates the lubricant in the joint. In osteoarthritis, the synovial fluid at the knee joint is much less with no lubrication. This makes the joints largely susceptible to any pain as there is no barrier to cushion the bones. The hyaluronate reduces the pressure on the knee joint allowing it to move freely without pain. How is OSTENIL administered? Before use, check the pack has not been tampered with and is still sterile. Break the tamper evident seal and remove the cap before removing any air bubbles from the pre filled syringe. The product should not be administered with anything that has been sterilised with quarternary ammonium salts. Is Ostenil Mini safe to use during pregnancy? Ostenil Mini safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Studies have indicated it is well tolerated by unborn foetuses. How long will Ostenil provide pain relief? The treatment will last for six months
Ostenil Plus (1x40mg/2ml) can treat knee joint paint to increase mobility in the individual when the knee joint has undergone trauma or degeneration. Ingredients: 1 ml isotonic solution (pH 7.3) contains 20.0 mg sodium hyaluronate from fermentation and sodium chloride, sodium monohydrogenphosphate, sodium dihydrogenphosphate, mannitol and water for injection. How does OSTENIL work? OSTENIL Plus is a clear medicine which contains hyaluronate, a pure animal free substance that is completely biocompatible and imitates the lubricant in the knee joint. In osteoarthritis, the synovial fluid at the knee joint is much less with no lubrication. This makes the knee largely susceptible to any pain as there is no barrier to cushion the bones. The hyaluronate reduces the pressure on the knee joint allowing it to move freely without pain. Who should not take Ostenil? Individuals that are sensitive or have known allergies to drugs should take care and seek medical advice before taking Ostenil. Ostenil should be avoided if there any infections at the knee joint. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should avoid using Ostenil, as well as children and also anyone with rheumatoid arthritis or Bechterew disease. How is OSTENIL administered? Before use, check the pack has not been tampered with and is still sterile. Break the tamper evident seal and remove the cap before removing any air bubbles from the pre filled syringe. Ostenil Plus should be injected into the knee joint cavity away from veins and away from muscle tissue. Inject once every week for 3 injections. Are there any associated side effects with Ostenil? Redness and swelling, as well as pain and increased sensation of heat can be felt at the area of injection at the knee point. An ice pack should be applied to the knee five minutes after to increase blood flow to the are and significantly increase the wellbeing of the siteTendoVis (1×1.2ml) is intended to relieve pain and optimise recovery of tendons and ligaments damaged by acute or chronic injury. In addition, augments the sodium hyaluronate naturally present in the soft tissue surrounding damaged tendons and ligaments and provides support, lubrication and hydration to the affected site thereby providing the ideal environment for healing of the damaged tissue. What are the benefits of TendoVis (1×1.2ml)?
  • Act as a shock absorbent where cartilage has worn down
  • Help treat degeneration in mobility
  • Reduce pain by stopping further tissue damage
  • Improve and benefit physical  mobility
We recommend that you organize 4 or 5 weekly sessions followed by a “maintenance” session every 2 to 3 months, depending on your needs. You can resume your usual routine at the end of the treatment. The redness disappears in just a few hours. The results are immediate and you will see an improvement in the first session. This is a treatment. In the short term, your skin will appear smoother, brighter and firmer. In the longer term, rides and fine lines are reduced and your skin tightens. TendoVis has been demonstrated to relieve pain and optimise recovery in the ankle following first or second degree sprain, to relieve chronic pain and disability of the elbow with lateral epicondylalgia and to relieve pain in patients with symptomatic rotator cuff tendinopathy.
ORTHOVISC (High Molecular Weight Hyaluronan) is a treatment made from ultra-pure hyaluronan, a naturally occurring lubricant found in healthy knee joints.
What is ORTHOVISC? Orthovisc is made from pure animal free hyaluronic acid and is used to treat knee pains by injecting into area to offer six months pain relief. The process is referred to as viscosupplementation, where the knee joints are injected (supplemented) with healthy hyaluronic acid lubricant which means that patients can be mobile and independent to carry out their normal daily activities again. This process is much more effective then taking drugs orally to contain the pain. What is so unique about ORTHOVISC®?
  • ORTHOVISC extinguishes pain from osteoarthritis for half a year.
  • Many have reported immediate pain relief after the initial treatment.
  • Taken from bacteria, ORTHOVISC's active ingredient is completely animal free so it will not cause any allergic reactions.
  • Orthovisc imitates the fluid found in knee joints.
Made from hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found inside the human body. It's key properties are to keep the skin hydrated whilst adding plumpness.
